Shannon Lovley.jpg

Shannon Lovley, CVPM

Senior Consultant

Shannon is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and senior veterinary consultant with over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Since 1991, she has worked alongside veterinary teams in both clinical and operational roles, developing a deep understanding of what it takes to lead, manage change, and build sustainable veterinary practices. Today, Shannon consults full time for veterinary hospitals nationwide with Vet Positive (a Coppens Business Strategies company).

Shannon began her career in human medicine, where she cultivated expertise in healthcare operations while prioritizing clear communication and patient-centered service. Her passion for animals and veterinary care ultimately led her into veterinary medicine, where she has spent decades supporting practice owners, managers, and leadership teams through the realities of day-to-day operations and long-term growth. Earning her CVPM designation in 2013, Shannon holds an Associate of Science degree with a concentration in Business Management. Her work is grounded in practical experience—not theory—and shaped by years of guiding practices through transition and growth.

In today’s veterinary landscape—marked by staffing shortages, burnout, corporate consolidation, and rising client expectations—Shannon helps practices move beyond survival mode. Known for her collaborative, judgment-free approach and her ability to meet practices where they are, Shannon’s goal is to help veterinary practices grow in a way that is healthy, ethical, and sustainable for the long term.

Abbie Bascom

Executive Assistant

Abbie is a life-long resident of Grand Rapids, MI with a background in Education, Customer Service, and Event Planning. She received her bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Art Education, but found she enjoyed applying the skills she learned to the business world rather than a classroom. With a history of working with a wide variety of clients, businesses, and settings, Abbie has cultivated a passion for organization, problem solving, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Abbie lives in Michigan with her husband, Ethan and their cat Mister Prince. Outside of work she enjoys playing tabletop games with friends, DIY projects, embroidery, and great food! She has always had a love for animals, specifically their ability to aid in emotional healing, and is excited to use her skills to improve the lives of the veterinarians who care for them.

Donna.jpg

Donna Wilhoite

Bookkeeper

A longtime resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Donna brings a wonderful combination of veterinary experience and financial expertise to the Vet Positive team. Serving as the Lead Receptionist at a local veterinary clinic, Donna  developed a strong appreciation for the unique challenges and rewards of veterinary medicine. Along the way, she also gained valuable experience in research assistance, tax services, and bookkeeping, building a diverse skill set that allows her to support veterinary practices from a variety of perspectives.

Outside of work, Donna loves making memories with her family, whether that means spending a sunny afternoon at the lake, enjoying a water park adventure, visiting Disney, or heading out for a delicious meal. At home, she shares her space with her canine companion, Ghost —who keeps life entertaining and makes a surprisingly good coworker (when he's not demanding attention!).

Donna is thrilled to be part of Vet Positive, where she has the opportunity to bring together two of her passions: bookkeeping and veterinary medicine. She looks forward to building meaningful relationships with clients, helping practices stay organized and financially healthy, and making life a little easier for the hardworking teams who care for our furry family members.

Lori.jpg

Lori Spriggs

Bookkeeper

With over two decades of diverse professional experience, Lori has built a career that bridges veterinary medicine and business management. Lori began in 1996 as a veterinary receptionist and advanced to veterinary assistant within one year. After four years in the veterinary field, Lori transitioned into bookkeeping, developing a strong foundation in financial management.

In 2008, Lori returned to veterinary medicine, earning her Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.) credential in 2013 and later advancing to Practice Manager in 2018. Lori’s clinical and management experience spans general practice, emergency medicine, and work with large animals, small animals, exotics, wildlife, and zoo species.

In 2023, Lori transitioned back to bookkeeping and business management, where she can apply both her operational leadership skills and financial expertise to drive organizational success.

Lori lives on a small farm in rural Georgia with her husband and several animals, including dogs, cats, goats, chickens, and other fostered critters. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors.

Terri Miller

Bookkeeper

Terri grew up somewhere between two cornfields in what she proudly considers the greatest small town in Ohio — Newcomerstown! Terri has been part of the veterinary world since 2004, wearing quite a few different hats along the way. From veterinary assistant (working with both large and small animals) to CSR, and eventually spending sixteen incredible years in practice management, Terri has seen it all. She has led teams ranging from 5 to 45 people and discovered that one of her biggest passions is helping veterinary teams, pet people, and businesses succeed.

A self-proclaimed detail enthusiast (some might say checklist lover 😉), Terri was ecstatic about joining the Vet Positive team as its newest bookkeeper! She is excited to bring her years of real-world veterinary experience to the financial side of the industry, helping Vet Positive clients make sense of their numbers in a way that is practical, approachable, and digestible. Because let's be honest, numbers don't have to be scary!

What really drew Terri to Vet Positive is the genuine group of people behind the name — people who truly care about the success of veterinary practices, their teams, and the people who make it all happen. She is thrilled to be part of a team that shares those values and cannot wait to help clients feel a little more confident about their finances.

When not working, Terri fully embraces her crazy cat lady status, spending time with her kitties and husband. They are happiest traveling to Florida and soaking up some Gulf Coast sunshine. When it's time to recharge, you might find her enjoying a good Netflix binge, playing piano, relaxing on the back porch with her favorite people and furry companions, hiking around Ohio, or hitting the open road on motorcycles with her husband. And her long-term dream? Trading those Ohio cornfields for palm trees and making Fort Myers Beach home someday — hopefully sooner rather than later!

With over 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry, Anthony has held a variety of roles ranging from kennel technician to hospital manager and regional operations support. This hands-on background has given Anthony a strong understanding of both the day-to-day operations and the bigger picture of running a successful veterinary practice.

At Vet Positive, Anthony focuses on analyzing data, supporting bookkeeping efforts, and helping practices find practical ways to grow. With a natural strength in numbers and a relationship-driven approach, he enjoys working with teams to better understand their goals and support their success.

Outside of work, Anthony owns a family-run candy store in downtown Cocoa Beach, Florida. When not working, he enjoys the beach lifestyle and is a dedicated cat person who always has at least one feline companion close by.
